Changing the narrative

The importance of connection

The importance of connection

"I think at the end of the day everybody is going to struggle at some point in their life with body positivity and wanting to change in some way to feel better about themselves. It's been a major struggle for me. Criticism is going to come in your life whether you're at your smallest or at your biggest ... People are going to judge you no matter what and you have to be OK with just loving yourself."

"We didn't start trying to help change people's minds about how they felt. When people were upset or concerned we said, 'well, how can we help you with your child at our school in her classroom with her teacher. Let's just focus on that.' I think focusing on the individual child that way was one of our strengths."

Can you please listen?

Compassion in the time of COVID

"I would love for the focus to not be on who's good or bad, and instead be on how do we keep people safe. I'm not telling people that they should be using more drugs.I'm not promoting drug use. I'm not condemning drug use. None of that is in my interest and it's not in the interest of public health in general. [...] WE're not here to judge, we're just here to inform and provide the tools and information that might help you live your life a little safer."

According to a post on the BC Golf House Society’s website, the success of the Banff Springs hotel and golf course, which opened in 1912, inspired the federal government of the day to contemplate a similar project for Mount Revelstoke National Park.

However, when World War One began two years later, the project was forgotten as the federal government’s priorities were focused elsewhere.

It would be another 12 years before Revelstoke got its golf course.

The trashion show featured 12 outfits and 15 participants, including both models and designers. Unlike previous years, this year’s trashion show did not include a contest and no winner was announced.
